Feature Focus: Sample Selection Video

In the second installment of the SpaceDrum demo series, Roland explores the instrument’s sample selection capabilities.

Each of the eight drum channels, Kick, Snare, Rim, Tom, Percussion, Hat 1, Hat 2, and Crash, features sixteen sample slots, allowing you to audition and select sounds quickly, with the option to load your own samples.

In this short demonstration, Roland scrolls through the Kick channel’s sample slots before settling on his final choice. The loaded samples draw inspiration from classic XOX-style analog and sample-based drum machines, alongside high-quality recordings of acoustic drum kits.

Toward the end of the video, Roland shows how Intensity can be a powerful tool to add tension to a Kicks rythmic pattern.
